As part of the School of Law and the Higher School of Legal Studies of the University of Bologna, a new edition of the seminar series on emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and law will be held again this year, coordinated by Professor Ugo Ruffolo.
A natural continuation of previous editions, the program will explore the complex legal mediation challenges arising from the increasing use of innovative technologies and AI systems across various fields.
The seminars will cover a wide range of topics, including the regulation of AI - also in light of the newly introduced AI Act - issues related to the attribution of liability for the development and use of AI-based systems, and the management of the associated risks; the new frontiers of private autonomy; online disinformation and profiling; and particular focus will be given to data management (on which AI “feeds”) and to the copyright and patent protection issues raised by robotic creations.
The event serves as a prestigious platform for interdisciplinary dialogue. As in previous years, it will feature the participation of academics, institutional representatives, regulatory experts, lawyers, and leading managers from major companies.
The seminars will be held every Tuesday from September 16, 2025, to December 9, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, at Palazzo Malvezzi (Via Zamboni, 22).
