Cookie policy
General definition of cookies
Cookies (also known as HTTP cookies, web cookies or browser cookies) are small files consisting of short fragments of text (letters and/or numbers) with various functions. They are stored by the browser used for browsing on the user's terminal when accessing a specific site. Among the different purposes that are linked to the use of these markers, some are indispensable for a correct and fluid navigation (so-called technical cookies), while others are functional for monitoring and profiling navigators to make advertising promotion strategies more effective on line (so-called profiling cookies).
Types of cookies
Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, it is possible to identify different categories of markers:
- from an objective point of view, a distinction is made between technical cookies (which include analytic cookies that allow us to measure the flow of users on the site), functional cookies (allowing to store some choices from browsers such as user name, length and region) and profiling cookies (i.e., cookies used to track users in order to offer them targeted advertising messages based on the tastes and preferences shown by the user while browsing the web);
- from a subjective point of view, a distinction is made between first-party cookies (sent to the user's browser directly from the site visited) and third-party cookies (sent to the user's browser from sites other than those browsed by the browser);
- based on the storage time, a distinction is made between session cookies (which are automatically deleted at the end of the browsing session by closing the browser) and persistent cookies (which remain on the user's terminal until the expiry date set for them or until specifically removed).
Cookies installed by the website
This website uses only session cookies and performance cookies (Google Analytics); for the use of these types of cookies, the Privacy Code (art. 122, Legislative Decree 196/2003) and the Provision of the Privacy Guarantor of 8 May 2014 “identification of simplified procedures for information and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies "does not require the user's prior consent (necessary, instead, for the use of the so-called profiling cookies not installed by this site).
In particular they are used:
- session cookies that identify the user during his session on the website and allow his interaction with the same;
- the _gat cookie (which expires ten minutes after being created or updated) and the _ga cookie (which expires two years after creation or updating), both of which are part of the Google Analytics analysis and monitoring service.
Since the cookie usage policy may change over time, users should periodically consult this page in order to learn about any updates and corrections.
The "third-party" Google Analytics cookies
As mentioned above, this site uses third-party performance cookies to analyze Web traffic, using the services provided by the Google Analytics site. These cookies are used to store information that does not allow the personal identification of users, thus guaranteeing anonymity.
For more information on the data protection policy followed by Google, consult the Google Privacy Policy.
It is possible for users to manage and/or block the use of cookies.
