“Rights in the platforms" - 3 April 2024 - La Sapienza University of Rome

On 3 April 2024 Prof. Ruffolo will hold a conference on the subject of "rights in platforms" organised by La Sapienza University of Rome - Department of Legal and Economic Studies. The event will constitute a qualified opportunity to discuss the profiles, both public and civil law, of the dialectic between the rights and duties of platforms and users, also with regard to the evolution of European legislation.

On the occasion of the conference, a book by Prof. Ruffolo and Prof. Cesare Pinelli, I diritti nelle piattaforme (Rights in the platforms), edited by Giappichelli, will be presented. The book analyses in detail issues such as the legitimacy of limits imposed on freedom of speech through content moderation clauses, the possibility of equating certain communications conveyed via the web to the “press”, also pursuant to Art. 21 Const., the fight against disinformation and fake news, and addresses the new questions posed both by the new dimensions of the metaverse and by the irruption of generative A.I. systems such as ChatGPT.
